Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Your Money Plan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Your Money Plan is an AI-powered personal financial management application that provides:

• Expense tracking and categorization
• Budget planning and monitoring
• AI-powered receipt scanning (images, PDFs, voice notes)
• WhatsApp integration for expense logging
• AI financial coaching and insights
• Multi-currency support with real-time exchange rates
• Year-to-date financial reporting

3. User Accounts

To use Your Money Plan, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of your account credentials
• Promptly update any information that becomes inaccurate
• Accept full responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
• Use only one account per individual (no duplicate accounts)

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Your Money Plan only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:

• Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Impersonate any person, entity, or falsely state affiliation
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code
• Use the Service to launder money or facilitate illegal financial activities
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent financial data

7. WhatsApp Integration Terms

When using WhatsApp integration, you additionally agree to:

• Only link phone numbers that you own or have authorization to use
• Understand that messages sent to our WhatsApp number are processed for expense logging
• Accept Meta's WhatsApp Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
• Not use the integration for spam, harassment, or any prohibited content
• Acknowledge that message delivery depends on WhatsApp/Meta infrastructure

8. Subscription & Payments

Your Money Plan offers free and premium subscription tiers:

• Free Tier: Basic expense tracking with limited AI features
• Premium: Full access to all features including unlimited AI coaching, WhatsApp integration, and advanced analytics
• Billing: Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
• Refunds: Refunds are provided within 14 days of initial purchase if you are unsatisfied (first-time subscribers only)
• Price Changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increases

9. Intellectual Property

The Your Money Plan application, including its design, features, content, trademarks, and underlying technology, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws worldwide. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer any part of our Service without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of your personal financial data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service to you.

10. Privacy

Your use of Your Money Plan is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information, including how AI systems process your data.

11. Service Availability & Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, updates, or security reasons
• Modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Limit certain features based on subscription tier or usage patterns

We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from scheduled or emergency service interruptions.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOUR MONEY PLAN AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Financial losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated insights
• Errors in expense categorization or receipt parsing
• Service interruptions or data unavailability
• Unauthorized access to your account (unless caused by our negligence)

Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Your Money Plan and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be revoked immediately
• You may export your data before deletion (available for 30 days after termination request)
• Your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• Any unused subscription period is non-refundable (except for the 14-day refund period)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a security risk to the Service or other users.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through:

1. Informal Resolution: Contact us first at hello@yourmoneyplan.app. We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days.
2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be submitted to mediation.
3. Arbitration: Unresolved disputes will be settled by binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. For users in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection laws of your residence may apply.

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email and/or in-app notification before the changes take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and close your account.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
